It has come once again, the time of year at which I start blatting at great length and volume:
For those of you that a) are new or 2) have tuned me out the last several years:
SPX is the Small Press Expo and it is basically my favorite con/nerd-thing of all time. It is this teeny little con in half of a hotel conference room and it is filled to the brim with independent comics and artists and general amazingness. It has webcomics and published comics and (my personal favorite) heaps and heaps of mini comics.
It has some truly excellent panels.
It has the Ignatz Awards (for celebrating independent comics).
It has hilarious and wonderful crafts.
It allowed my friend the joy of mustache ownership, just for a day.
It has brought me the mini comics "Is It Bacon?" and "Things I Have Stolen From Second Graders".
It has allowed me to meet Kate Beaton and John Campbell and to possibly mildly traumatize John Allison.
It has allowed me to squeak inanely at Bryan Lee O'Malley and get a sketch of Steph from Lost at Sea.

heypais.
It has brought into my life the horror of the infamous unicorn porn (that I must get around to scanning so as to better facilitate the spreading of trauma everywhere).
It has had, and will have again, a table for my friends' comic cough cough
This year it is even going to have an Animation Showcase, for the very first time ever! I don't really know what that is going to entail, but yay anyway!
Basically I just love every single thing about this con and I wish I could shrink it down and clutch it to my bosom and let it never ever end ever. This is going to be my fourth year volunteering and I LOVE IT SOOOOOO. I am also not going to be shutting up about it, fyi.
So. You know. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE ANYWHERE IN THE DC AREA THE SECOND WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER (9/10 & 9/11) YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GOOOOO. IT IS NOT EVEN EXPENSIVE!
Even if you don't want to excessively nerd out with me, it is an excellent thing to go to if you like things that are awesome and fun.

OTHER THINGS:
In Things I Never Thought I'd Experience Enough To Learn: Fedex signing devices are so much nicer and smoother than UPS signing devices.
I really must get around to fixing my iPod because apparently I am desperately craving listening to some Mahler? And all of it is on my other iPod.
Now that my Attack of Unfortunate Paranoia is apparently over, I think I am going to go back non-FO. I do not really like this entirely FO thing. It makes my nose wrinkle. So, just as soon as I have a free Saturday to go back through every freaking entry, yeah.
